Calla Smith

     I have been in VISION for four years.  Last year I was the head of the Teen Mentoring Program.  This coming school year I plan to travel to Ghana through AFS for the spring semester.  I plan to take Current Events, English of some kind, French and Spanish this fall semester.
     I have lived in Hotchkiss, CO for most of my life.  I moved here at the age of one from Crested Butte.   I have traveled extensively in my life both in and out of the United States.  I have been to Mexico three times, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Costa Rica, and England.   My interests include writing, languages, and current events.   I have been published twice in Rainy Day Corner, once in Dream Girl, and recently contributed to and helped put together Drumming Hearts, Living in Our Own Rhythm, an anthology of young women’s poetry.
     I was recently a finalist in the Young American’s Award for Young Business Owners for my Live Wire Jewelry business.
