Learner Schedule Explanation
It will be up to the RC and
the family to decide how their individual classes fit into the framework. We believe that most subjects can
easily be included in one of the general topic areas listed on the Learner Schedule. The topic areas and the classes that could fall under those categories are listed below. This list is provided for clarification
purposes only and is not expected to include all possible topic areas or
classes.
A. MATH (elementary math, numbers, arithmetic, algebra,
geometry, trigonometry, calculus, etc.)
B. SCIENCE (earth science, astronomy, chemistry, animal
science, physics, physical science)
C. LANGUAGE ARTS (grammar, English, literature, reading,
writing, penmanship, phonics, etc.)
D. ARTS & HUMANITIES (social studies, history,
geography, philosophy, painting, sketching, dance, drama, voice, band, crafts,
etc.)
E. LIFE/VOCATIONAL SKILLS (job skills, Home Economics,
chores, parenting, field trips, RC Time, Youth Group, Cosmetology,
apprenticeships, mechanics, work study, etc.)
F. PHYSICAL EDUCATION (organized sports, swimming,
skiing, snowboarding, hiking, kayaking, etc,)
Also, please note that we
are now asking for you to estimate your activities by WEEK in the table. That figure will then be transferred to
the equations at the bottom of the schedule to determine your total SEMESTER
hours.
A sample LEARNER SCHEDULE
is included to help you use the form.
